The Digital Humanism Conference #DigHum2026 will take place from 24 to
26 June 2026 in Vienna. This year, it will be held under the motto
“Orientation in turbulent times”.

 

#DigHum2026 connects everyone interested in options for a good digitalfuture and life. In conversation across research and policy, with experts and enthusiasts, it will be discussing technology through the lens of human values and democratic principles. The Digital Humanism Conference 2026 will take place from 24 to 26 June at the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna, with an opening evening at the renowned Gartenbaukino, showing the documentary Ghost in the Machine.

Digital technologies are profoundly transforming our societies, with artificial intelligence opening new avenues for innovation. At the same time, there are significant concerns about how to sustain and advance democracy, human rights, inclusion, diversity, and environmental responsibility in the digital age.

Keynote speakers include Rumman Chowdhury (Humane Intelligence) and Bruce Schneier (Inrupt). Over two conference days, renowned international and local speakers will share their perspectives, provide fresh insights, an
highlight potential pathways to creating a digital future that benefits all.
The conference welcomes researchers, policymakers, technologists, civil society actors, industry stakeholders, and all those committed to shaping digital technologies in line with democratic values and human rights.
